Hi Guys A few months have past so I guess it is time for a winter newsletter to cover what is happening in the coming months. Winter Camp This has been postponed until next year because this season has been very busy for lots of our students. Tracksuits Ochiba Karate Tracksuits ($95.00 each) are now available at Dynamic Sport. They look great and will keep us dry during our winter runs. Dogi bags are also available ($20.00 each). Tournaments We will be starting ‘point’ tournaments this year. This is a non contact style of karate so will suit everyone. We will observe a tournament before we compete so everyone can see what is involved and expected. If you are competing the Ochiba Karate tracksuits must be worn to show our team unity. Housekeeping All students MUST wear running shoes to the Dojo. But remember to take your shoes off inside. Reason 1: To avoid stones on the mats Reason 2: Running, skipping, etc. We have not been able to do these activities with our juniors because running shoes are forgotten. Running shoes are part of the uniform and should be brought to every training. This is a great chance to bush up on some basics. I expect keen students to be there everyday. Monday 12th July – Karate Kid We will be viewing Karate Kid at the Berkeley Cinema, Whangaparaoa. This is a great way to get inspired for training during the school holidays. Details to be advised.
